Dorset Race Equality Council (DREC) seeks a Chief Officer on a permanent basis. However, a long-term secondment may be considered. Dorset REC works across Bournemouth, Dorset and Poole to challenge racism and achieve a fairer and just society. The Chief Officer (CO) leads the work to liaise with the different groups, public bodies and minority ethnic communities.

Projects have included litter picking, writing letters to their MP and creating wildflower meadows! We had a fantastic day yesterday with the Eco Team at Allenbourn Middle School on an after school litter pick. What an inspiring group of pupils, led brilliantly by Cheryl James, teacher of science and maths and our PLACE project lead teacher!

During Introduction to Global Learning training session with trainee teachers in Poole Scitt we explored a range of resources together, discovered the multiple impacts of the life of a single-use coffee cup, diamond ranked the 9Rs and sorted photos of India and the UK to challenge negative stereotypes.

Our staff member Sarah and new Trustee Jenny had a very busy Friday morning delivering workshops on change-making and consumerism with over 140 pupils and staff at Dumpton School in Wimborne as part of their Earthshot Prize Day.
