The Sustainable Development Goals Training
At the UN in 2015, world leaders agreed on 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This set of ‘Global Goals’ is a historic global agreement to eradicate extreme poverty, fight inequality and injustice and leave no one behind. Environmental sustainability is at the heart of these goals, and is of great importance as we face increasing pressure to act positively in the face of the climate emergency and biodiversity crisis.
Our work in schools and the community supports finding out more about these SDGs and using them as a framework to enable teaching staff, community members and young people to explore, get creative and collaborate with others to find solutions to global issues in our interconnected world.
Our training offers trainee teachers, teaching staff, and adults in the community the chance to find out more about the SDGs. We explore ways in which they can enrich curriculum planning, tutor time, values work, themed days and weeks, collaborations with local businesses, and global learning.
We will support you in exploring ideas and activities for assemblies, events, classroom resources and community development. We will also share with you resources and online materials such as https://worldslargestlesson.globalgoals.org/
Our training can be delivered in your school or community venue, at times to suit, as a short presentation, staff meeting or part of a whole day event. We will happily discuss tailoring the content to your specific needs.
