Children’s Workshops – Multicultural Britain
DEED’s workshops celebrate cultural diversity by exploring some of the stories of Multicultural Britain. They promote positive role models from Black British history and help children and young people recognise and challenge stereotypes, prejudice and discrimination.
Stories and role play help children and young people understand the similarities and differences between themselves and others and emphasise that we all wish to be treated with respect and fairness.
Pupils Workshops can include:
Diverse Stories
Exploring the real-life stories of people who live, or were born, in the UK but have heritage from around the world.
Children of Britain just like me!
Using role play to explore attitudes towards meeting a range of pupils visiting your school.
Who are the British?
Making a timeline of 2,000 years of Multicultural Britain.
The Great British role model!
Exploring the lives and achievements of ethnically diverse Great Britons from the past.
I Love My Hair!
Using film, stories, photos and ‘people colour’ portrait-making to reflect diversity.
We have a number of Resource Learning Collections to hire that support our children’s workshops
