‘Here’s What She Said To Me’ - a new production by Utopia Theatre, comes to Dorset

Utopia Theatre will perform live in Portesham on the 12th of March and Motcombe on the 13th

One of the UK’s leading African theatre companies, Utopia Theatre is eagerly anticipating its first tour since the national lockdown in 2020. Returning to touring with energy, ambition and the largest tour schedule to date, their production ‘Here’s What She Said to Me’.

In this production, we meet Agbeke, Omotola and Aramide, three generations of proud African women connecting with each other across two continents, across time and space. Together they share their struggles, their joys, tragedies and broken dreams in order to find healing in the present. Here’s What She Said to Me combines drama with music and poetry to tell a moving story of daughters and mothers in the world of migrations and shifting identities, braving life with undying hope, optimism and resilience.

Utopia Theatre will visit over twenty venues between January and March, including two performances in Dorset through Artsreach, the counties touring arts charity.

Artsreach is Dorset’s touring arts organisation, giving rural communities all over the County the opportunity to see and participate in high-quality arts events in their own villages. As a charitable organisation, Artsreach aims to make ticket prices accessible to everyone and to enable this to happen, it receives regular funding from Arts Council England and Dorset Council.
