Learning Resources for Primary Practitioners
DEED provides an extensive range of hands-on resources to support embedding a global perspective into Early Years settings and schools, covering such themes as Myself, Homes, Food Around the World, Water, Transport and Play.
We have recently updated our Resource Centre and are now offering more varied collections which support Early Years settings. Offering inspirational ways to promote positive attitudes to diversity, similarities and difference, these collections will add a valuable global dimension to your provision.
With many schools now teaching a creative curriculum, DEED’s artefacts collections are able to provide the resources, photo packs and books needed to teach particular themes, whilst embedding a global perspective and promoting positive attitudes towards difference and diversity.

Little Global Citizens Collections
I Love my Hair – Key Stages 1 and 2
Based on the story book ‘I Love My Hair’ this is a useful resource for work on self-portraits, with children communicating ideas about themselves through art. The collection is very hands-on and gives children the opportunity to explore and use a range of art materials that are ‘people-coloured’ so that all children are able to represent themselves and celebrate their uniqueness. A selection of beautifully illustrated children’s books and images are included to build self-esteem and raise children’s awareness of others. It also includes books on how to draw portraits and the dimensions of the face.
Puppets Around the World - Key Stages 1 and 2
This new collection is a must for those designing and making puppets within Design technology. Children are able to look at and handle a wide variety of puppets from around the world, including a range of hand, shadow and pop-up puppets which encompass both religious and cultural themes. We have also included a range of teaching materials and up-to-date books which have visually stimulating pictures and instructions.
