Be the Change and support Fairtrade farmers

Being the change is about more than just being aware. It’s about an active choice to support Fairtrade farmers and workers around the world, wherever possible, to ensure they can earn a fairer wage.

This is an extra special Fairtrade Fortnight because we’re also celebrating 30 years of the Fairtrade movement in the UK.

To help you celebrate Fairtrade Fortnight at school Fairtrade Foundation has created some Fairtrade Fortnight school resources that you can find on their website.

These resources include a:

  • ‘Be the Change’ assembly and script

  • ‘Be the Change’ chalk art

  • A guide on ‘How to engage your MP’

  • A persuasive writing activity

  • Tom Hunt’s Fairtrade chocolate ice cream recipe

  • Youth Exhibition Hall

You can also sign up for their 'Be the Change' school assemblies designed specifically for school children in KS2, KS2 and KS4. These sessions offer an engaging way for students to learn about Fairtrade and gives them ideas on how to 'Be the Change'.

Date: Wednesday 18 September
Time: 9am - 9.30 am and 1:30pm - 2:00 pm UK Time
