This year marks 30 years of the FAIRTRADE mark

To celebrate, DEED, Fair Ground (Wimborne’s Fairtrade shop) and the Wimborne Minster & Colehill Fairtrade Community would like to offer local Wimborne, Colehill and Merley-based schools support during Fairtrade Fortnight this September 2024.

We know many of your schools explore Fairtrade during the year, so this offer at the start of term may be of interest.

The theme of this year’s Fairtrade Fortnight is ‘BE THE CHANGE – Buy Fairtrade today’.

Schools can either have stock on a sale or return basis and run the stall themselves, or we can offer volunteers to help run the stall with staff and pupils.

In addition, DEED are offering pupils a variety of Fairtrade workshops see here, prices from £100.

“For the past 2 years our Year 4 team have organised a Fairtrade sale which was a huge success. After learning about Fairtrade and its impact on growers, producers and consumers all over the world, we put all of our new knowledge together to create persuasive posters, information texts, price lists and a pop-up shop full of wonderful Fairtrade items to sell to our parents and carers. We set up our stalls, decorated our shop and organised our money floats. This has been such a fun topic and, most importantly, it made us feel good to know that our sales helped in a small way to support 1.65 million Fairtrade farmers.”

I’m a web designer and I love creating beautiful, affordable websites that work hard for small businesses. Simply put, a business needs a website to reach more customers. It needs to look good but it also needs to work hard. That’s where I can help, I build cost-effective, good looking websites that are both mobile and google friendly.
