Stolen from God - a folk song cycle about England's involvement with the transatlantic slave trade

Acclaimed songwriter and storyteller Reg Meuross unearths incredible tales and uncomfortable truths of a history which needs to be told.

Featuring the sparkling playing of kora master Suntou Susso, these stories are brought to life in a stunning folk song cycle of moving and thought-provoking songs, alongside narration on the background to each piece by actress, musician and composer, Karen Gledhill.

There will be two performances, one at Cerne Abbas Village Hall on Tuesday 22nd October and one at Langton Matravers Village Hall on Wednesday 23rd October.

"If ever there was evidence that music can be used to speak truth to power, then this album will in time sit as testament to that fact. From a British man of colour, a personal thanks must go to Reg Meuross and his team for taking on this subject matter."

Ifi Umoren – FATEA

"Reg Meuross has written a masterpiece and the musicians working with him on this are simply amazing."
