We’re delighted to invite you to a special talk by DEED’s Louise Boston Mammah

Join us for an inspiring evening exploring stories of resilience, resourcefulness, and belonging in Dorset’s ethnically diverse communities.

When: Thursday 23rd October, 7pm
Where: Dorset History Centre, Bridport Road, Dorchester, DT1 1RP

We’re delighted to invite you to a special talk by DEED’s very own Programme Co-ordinator, Louise Boston Mammah. Louise will share insights from Where We Can Call Home – DEED’s latest community heritage project.

The project brings together the voices of more than fifty people from across Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole who have made this corner of Dorset their home. Their stories span decades and continents: from leaving life under communist rule in former Czechoslovakia, to arriving in Bournemouth to study journalism and finding community along the way.

Each story is a window into the courage, creativity, and connection that shape life in our diverse communities today. As one participant put it, “My home is where I am, where my heart is.”

The full interviews will be preserved at the Dorset History Centre, ensuring these voices are heard and valued for generations to come.

This event is free to attend, but booking is essential.
